Getting My Face On!

Beth at the stories of a to z is having a party today and I guess I am one of the few crazy people in blog- land who is willing to show my before and after! So here is my crazy face upon waking up in the morning and here are my steps to my made up face.

1. I wash with Cetaphil cleanser 2x a day and put Cetaphil moisturizer  with spf 15 on in the morning every day. I put it on my face and neck so I don't end up looking like a twenty year old with a 60 year olds neck. Not that I look twenty or anything. I always put my moisturizer on right after I was to try to keep the moisture in.

2. After that I put on underwear for lids by origins (it gives you just a little bit of sparkle on the eyes- but not that teenie bopper look) I then top that off with a little eye shadow from the body shop- not sure of the name but it is matte and has a number 13 on it. I then put on black eyeliner on top lid only and smudge it in a little and curl my eyelashes and use a brow and lash gel instead of mascara on both my lashes and my unruly eyebrows. I like this because it comes off so easy and I don't have to scrub and scrub to get it off.
After I do my eyes it is on to the cheeks- as you will notice I don't wear foundation. I don't like the way it feels on my face but I do like a little color on the cheeks and for that I go to my favorite Origins Pinch your cheeks brownberry- I think it is being discontinued as I can never find it but I love it.  Finally I add a little lip liner- the cheap stuff from the pharmacy (can't read the name anymore) and top it off with Maybelline Shiny-licious in sugar plum.  and here is my after.

I know I don't wear a lot of make up but I try to do the best with what I use. I still like to have a natural me look - but better then what I wake up with.
I hope more people join the party! If I can do it so can you!

  2. Yay! You joined!!! Way to go! I love that name---underwear for lids--it makes me giggle and I'm intrigued by what it might do for my own lids. I also like that you included the tip to not neglect your neck. That is something I always forget to do!

Thanks again for being brave and linking up!!!

  6. Way to go! I totally agree with you on the neck/face being different ages look lol I always tell people to apply moisturizer to their face, neck/chest area AND the backs of their hands. That way everything matches haha! I linked to Beth's party too & I wanted to make sure I cheered everyone on! :) Thanks for sharing!!

  11. About the greys (Mentioned on my blog) I admit I DO color sometimes. Not often, but at times. My husband insists I look too young to have so much grey. Of course he's only 41 and at least 50% grey. We both got the gene so our kids oughta be grey by 20 or so. LOL

  14. You look gorgeous!! I chickened out of the party but I had to see the brave ones!! I love your simple make up, it makes you look anything but simple. The color in your face is great. If they discontinue your blush, try the cream kind by Rimmel sold at Walgreens and CVS. I love it.

    You go girl!! :-)

  15. You look great before and after! I like that you use a gel instead of mascara. I hate how long it takes to get all of the mascara off every night.

  17. Oh I wish I could have joined in.. I just found out about this event about 15 minutes ago!!! My camera is terrible anyways!.. and I'm hoping to get a new one eventually! I'd have to be TWICE as brave to participate with a camera that's going to make me look worse than with my makeup already OFF AS IT IS!!!... I commend all the participants for their bravery, and you look great! Nice to meet you today! ~tina

  19. Beautiful dahling! =) I'm a non-foundation wearing mama too. I feel like it just gets in the creases a.k.a. wrinkles. I skip it too!

  20. And it does look natural! I never wore foundation either, but I did buy one that someone had recommended previously {might even have been Beth's original post}. I need to play with it though because I'm not used to wearing it.

  23. You've got great brows and hair...I think a lot of people discount these two things...but you play them up not too much...but just right. Also, your soft babydoll look is so pretty. Nice colors for your skin & hair. I'm guessing you're a "winter?"
