The Stare at my Staircase Party

Well the day has finally arrived, beth@ thestoriesofa2z.blogspot.com is having a party and I was invited along with another 456 people. I am not taking it personally though. My staircase has been done over and the process took about 3 year! Ugh, actually when we bought our home 3 years ago we had hardwoods put in through out. However we ran out of the green stuff and had to put the bannister and railing on hold till just recently.

It is not quite as fancy as some of the other transformations but when you see where it came from I think you will see why I have been staring at my staircase! Here it is MY STAIRCASE, TA DA!

I am thinking of putting stair treads- nice ones- or a runner down the center but I have not made it to that project yet! Maybe it will be done before next years party!

  1. It's a fantastic transformation. And after just painting all my little risers white I know how much work goes into that. Ugh. Thanks so much for liking up and joining the party!

  6. This is my favorite way for a staircase to look. When we moved in they had just put in brand new carpet over hardwood flooring. If it had been ucky, I would have ripped it out and done exactly what you did. However, I can't bring myself to rip out new carpet. When it gets too bad, I will.

  7. It looks so great! It would be a dream come true if I didn't have to vacuum the carpet on my stairs anymore!!

  9. So.... are the stairs too slippery for children? My husband is worried that someone will slip and break their neck. But I SOOO want to get rid of our 15 yr old nasty carpet on the stairs!

  10. Surprisingly, I am the only one who has taken a spill! That was right after they were done (they were a little slick in the beginning. My kids and husband fly up and down them all day long with no problems. One spill in 4 years. (not bad odds I think) I still love them!
